Building A World Class Platform - Kunlun Red Star Signed with Canadian Women's Hockey League

On July 14, when Canada Governor-General Johnston visited China, the signing ceremony between Beijing Kunlun Red Star affiliated to China International Cultural Communication Center and Canadian Women’s Hockey League is held in Beijing. Member of Foreign Affairs Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Executive Chairman of China International Cultural Communication Center Long Yuxiang attended the event and together with Governor-General Johnston witnessed the signing of relevant documents.

Long Yuxiang introduced the current situation of China International Cultural Communication Center to Governor-General Johnston, and hoped to further strengthen cooperation with Canada to promote people-to-people exchanges and deepen the friendship between the peoples. Long Yuxiang said that, on July 13th, President Xi Jinping met with Governor-General Johnston and expressed that China would like to expand changes and cooperation with Canada in education, culture, youth, tourism, and winter sports. CICCC is ready to further deepen exchanges and cooperation with Canada. Beijing Kunlun Red Star Hockey Club affiliated to China International Cultural Communication Center signed a cooperation agreement with the Canadian Women’s Hockey League, which is of great significance to the development of ice hockey in China. Kunlun Red Star, as the pioneer of Chinese ice hockey, is actively preparing for the 2022 Winter Olympics, promoting the popularity and development of ice hockey in China, and actively seeking cooperation with countries excellent in winter sports. Long Yuxiang presented to Johnston the “Belt and Road” Jade Seal and the jersey of Beijing Kunlun Red Star Hockey Club. Governor-General liked them very much and extended his sincere thanks.

 Governor-General Johnston was delighted to attend the event, and he said that he used to be an ice hockey enthusiast and once wanted to be a professional player. Canada’s ice and snow sports development has been very mature. At present, China is actively preparing for the 2022 Winter Olympics, and the Canadian side is looking forward to strengthening cooperation with China in winter sports. It’s hoped that the cooperation between Canadian Women’s Hockey League and Kunlun Red Star would drive more exchanges and cooperation, and that to deepen cooperation with China International Cultural Communication Center in culture, education and sports.
