Philanthropic action ushers the spring into Hunan

      Its winner in east Hunan province, early spring chill makes itself felt everywhere. On the 28th January 2013, group sent to convey greetings and appreciation by China International Cultural Communication Center and China Charity Project Committee (CCPC in this article) paid the second time visit to the home for the elderly at Chen’er Township in Linli County. The group which was accompanied by deputy head of the government of the county Yang Tiansheng and Jiang Yinqun conveyed greetings and gifts to the elderly, wished them for a better life.

      In the year 2011, introduced and arranged by China Charity Project Committee, CCPC goodwill ambassador Xu Bangda and his wife Teng Fang came to Linli when they got some knowledge about the simple and crude life conditions of those live in the home of the elderly in this particular town. Xu and Teng decided to donate one million yuan for the home of the elderly to improve their condition. Two years have passed as the year of snake was drawing near. The environment and living condition of the elderly had been the major concern of the leaders and goodwill ambassadors of CCPC. Hence the organization organized this trip. When Ms Teng Fang was stepping into the home, she saw a brand new place where a new two-level building replaced the previous decrepit sun-dried mud brick houses. The place was permeated with loving and care. People live in spacious and bright rooms; all varieties of goods for daily use are available. The home for the elderly at Chen’er Township was ranked as four-star home for the elderly by Changde municipality civil administration bureau around the end of 2012, after strict and competitive acceptance examination.

       It comforted the leaders and goodwill ambassadors from CCPC remarkably when they saw their new home and improved living conditions. Nonetheless higher standard also have been raised by the leaders and goodwill ambassadors from CCPC. Material improvement alone is not enough, software building, namely spiritual enhancement required more effort to achieve. Normalization of the management is the home’s next goal. The home is set to improve rules and regulations. In so doing, the life of the elderly is expected to be more splendid, more institutionalized, more diverting and more attractive. To serve them and to serve them good is the ultimate goal of running a home for them.

       Chill was driven away by the sun of later winter, everybody felt warm and satisfied by the visiting. Members of the group were chatting with the elderly sitting around the fireplace. There was an old man among the aged once participating in the liberation war. Knowing about this, the executive chairman of CICCC concurrent chairman of CCPC Long Yuxiang stepped forward to hold the hand of the old man saying “you are a respected old soldier. You and your peers have made considerable contribution to our life, thank you. We will never forget this. To respect and take care of the aged represent one of the major values of Chinese traditional culture. In recently years, lonely, solitary and people unable to take care of themselves have increased in number. It is the concern of whole society to take care of them, to entertain them and to offer them reasonable medical care. Now we are doing our part to make you live happily and carefreely. ”

      In order to further enrich the old people’s diary and their life, Long Yuxiang and other members of the group donated charity fund, goods and materials to them according to their particular demands. The leader also arranged the staff to buy more TV sets and refrigerators for the old people.

       Art director of CICCC Tai Hesheng, director of the standing committee of the people’s congress of the county Li Weipin, party secretary of Chen’er Township Su Qunying and philanthropic entrepreneur Guo Debin attended the visiting.
